Sonoture Celebrates the Life & Legacy of the Beloved Jim Kinsey with the Kinsey Community Leadership Award

Passion, inclusion, respect, and dedication.  Any one of these attributes would be associated with a great leader.  It is often rare to come across any leader that embodies all of these attributes, let alone one.  In the real estate industry, we were lucky to have one of the most passionate, inclusionary, respectful, and dedicated leaders in the history of our industry, Jim Kinsey.  

Earlier this year, we lost Jim, one of the greatest minds in commercial real estate.  He was an inspiration, mentor, advisor, and friend to many NYC commercial real estate brokers.  His perspective and dedication to the real estate industry were second to none.   

“Jim was not only my brother and best friend but also my mentor and business partner,” said Marisa Kinsey. “His level-headed calm demeanor was invaluable as we navigated the property management world together. We could always find a way to joke and bring levity to the most difficult situations we came up against together. His humor, advice, partnership, knowledge, and support cannot be matched and will eternally be missed.”

Today, in honor of Jim Kinsey and with the support of the Kinsey family, his friends, and colleagues, I’m honored to announce that Sonoture will launch the Kinsey Community Leadership Award.  The annual award will honor Jim,  his legacy, and commercial real estate brokers in the investment sales business that embody Jim’s spirit.

The first-ever Kinsey Community Leadership Award recipient will be announced on Monday, December 13, 2021.  

From the bottom of my heart, Jim we all miss you.  I hope this award will serve as a north star for all of us to live up to.
